Bluetooth WM5 to laptop connection problem

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio with built in Bluetooth and a WM5 device, now I can get my phone to send things to the laptop but not the other way round.

The main thing I would like to do is to connect the devices together using Bluetooth via ActiveSync so I can use a remote desktop.

If anyone could spare the time please could you explain to me how to connect them and use Bluetooth with ActiveSync.

Hope I have explained this well enough ;)

Thanks,

Helen.

:P

First link looks decent. There's a few things that need doing that aren't all that obvious.

Thanks for your reply, I will check it out, silly me didn't think to look at Google ;)

I have been thinking though that I may have to go for a hard reset due to the fact I changed my COM ports on my phone to allow for my GPS to run TomTom, i'm wondering if that is effecting it.

Cheers again I will keep you posted with how I get on to help anyone else with the same problem.

Well it seems I have trouble with my phone, everytime I try to set up a COM port I get the message "The COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again". I have thought of everything, I shall do some more reading and if I dont solve it then it's time for a hard reset. ;)

Does anyone know if there is a way of restoring Bluetooth defaults, maybe through a registry editor or something?

Very I likely I think. Pretty much all ActiveSync uses COM ports as far as i know.

PS I use a third-party BT GPS with TomTom, and everything is fine. If you need a COM list from my phone, just ask.
