MPx220 Screen Problem

Called Cingular Customer Service (CCS from now on) to change my data plan. They did and reuploaded the settings to the network and the guy said my phone now has the new plan. The next day wierd things started to happen...

1)Answered a call and held the send button to activate speakerphone during call...good

2)Ended call and speakerphone was still on and I could not change it so rebooted phone...still on so rebooted again...back to outdoor...good.

3)Next day the large lcd screen started looking like it was in 8-bit color mode instead of 32-bit color mode...bad. (outside lcd ok.

4)performed hard reset and still no change...bad

Has this happened to anyone and is there a solution besides replacing the screen fo $60 from cnn.cn?

Sounds very strange, what is the display like when the phone is first booting? ie does it look like an 8-bit display then?

Also could you post a screenshot of the problem as I don't think I have heard of this problem before?

Also (just checking the obvious) are you sure you did a hard reset correctly?
