GPRS auto disconnect when idle

I've recently set up my Vario to peroidically check a POP3 email account automatically.

I've no real concerns about this from a data usage point of view, now we have unlimited GPRS on T-Mobile.

However, I am a little concerned as to effect it is going to have on my battery life. The main reason for the concern being that GPRS does not appear to ever dissconnect once it has established a connection.

I'm also fairley sure, that on my C550 (SDA II), call it what you will - there is the option to disconnect from the GPRS if it is idle for a designated period of time.

Does anyone know if the ability to do the same exists on the Vario ?
