Guest sikittle Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 hey, I have a new C600. I've probably not been using it more than a month, and I'm starting to get messages about the storage space on my phone being low, and I need to free up some memory. According to the System Info under the Task Manager I have 700 Kb free. This doesn't seem very much at all. I managed to free some stuff up by deleting the temporary internet files, and moving a couple of photos to the storage card. But I'm still only left with 2.97 Mb. I know this won't give me warning messages now - but it still seems very low. 3 Mb free out of 16 Mb. The phone is brand new, has no software installed, only a few text messages, etc. Is this normal? On my SPV C500, I had it for a year and 2 months and never deleted a text message (there were thousands stored) - I had a yaers worth of call history, and I never once got a message about low storage memory. Any guideance would be welcomed, Simon

Did you try contacting Orange or your carrier? Make sure its not something silly like u got a bunch of songs synced over to your phone and thats taking all the memory up. You may also consider trying Oxios Hibernate which clears up memory and its free http://www.smartphone.net/software_detail....teid=279&id=331
Guest nvkid909 Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 set video / pics to storage card, thats the main one
Guest nausea Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Thats weird. I thought the C600 has 64mb ROM and 64mb RAM. That should leave you with more than 16mb. Maybe its reporting it wrong? Have you tried turning it off and pulling the battery for a few seconds? Have you tried hard reseting it?
Guest mini_man Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 I managed to get 11mb from somewhere! I hardreset the phone and got rid of everything! So now i have room for net cf2 and room for other things on storage. Does having a free storage make the phone a little faster?

I think it's only the physical memory who has any impact on the speed of the phone, since it's used as a kind of RAM memory.
Guest Beansol Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Same problem with my C600 - the PIM.VOL seems to be taking up all the space. Anyone know how to get this stored on the Storage Card? Also I would like to only sync my personal appointments from my PC to my phone, not all of them including my business meetings which take up a lot of space - WM 2003 allowed this option but it seems to have disappeared in WM5 any suggestions.
