TBH I'm with Ozzie

I'm sorry, but it's hard to know where to start to help you

There's too much space on the top and left frames, leaving not enough for your content (which isn't showing up by the way)

The "Enter here" page is a no-no (unless you have to for some hosting reason) and using Comic Sans carries a death penalty. Align everything the same way if you have to have this page, otherwise it looks thrown together.

I dunno. What is your site about?

At the moment it seems to be somewhere to store graphics.

I'd suggest:

Use some pictures to liven it up

Cut the frames down so you can have more space for content

Perhaps use images instead of the BLOCK CAPS links

What is it thats not shoiwing up? The main page?

Yeah it has to have an "INDEX" page / entrance thingy so thats it....

ATM im not to sure my self thats why i asked for suggestions....im not the brainiest dude with smartphones so i cant really do it on them and i ddidnt want it to be like every other site out there.

As for it only having graphics...its beacuse its still under construction....i have to upload more stuff yet its just finding the time inbetween workin n trainig etc.

Frames cut..ok....think i can manage that...will prob have to move the link generator...nvm

BLOCK CAPS links are in the process of being replaced..i have just odered a copy of photshop so i can save images for web and use them so its up and coming....again all dependant on free time.

Thanks for the imput...

Much appreciated.

Nevawlkalone, you need to use contextual links, like "kickboxer.gif" and then upload it to your host, as opposed to "file:///H|/Dreamweaver/site/kickboxer.gif". That's what the picture in the top left is linked to atm therefore it isn't showing up, also the skins link isn't working in a similar way, and nothing at all is showing on the home page.

I'd recommend completely getting rid of the top frame (if not the side one too) it is useless and the big blue band takes up 1/3 of the screen the whole time, even when scrolling down (as it is in its own frame), which is infuriating and pointless.

Edit: I'm just against using frames generally as they often make sites look more amateurish and seem to just get in the way and annoy the user. Perhaps you had a title or something on the top frame and it isn't linked to properly, put if not, why is it there? You have to take account of resolutions people use too and if I was using 800x600 which many people still do, the top blue bar would be covering about half the screen - leaving only half for the actual content - obviously not ideal, especially considering the forced geocities advert and global navigation menu on the left, in 800x600 I'd be getting max a quarter of the screen to view the real page.

Not meaning to be harsh, just constructive criticism, I think it needs a bit of work, and I agree try some pictures as opposed to simply lots of blue, pictures within tables for the global navigation prehaps, and other a simplistic background perhaps as a start to give the site a better feel. Anyway good luck with the course, keep working on it. ;)

This is how the web design software im using links images...i can see it when i view the site as can other people so i am confused as to why it doesnt show because if i try what u suggest it doesnt work atall....could it have something to do with the bandwidth and the amoount of times it hjas been viewed?

The top bar is to have the site logo thingy in like what is in my sig....i have edited it and shrunk it down so that the bar is smaller...i dont have Photoshop on my PC at work so had to wiat till i got home to sort it so that should soon be sorted...

Thats fair enough...i like them personally...i feel it makes it easier to use the site as the links etc are always there and title bar is also there. I think the fact that im using a 19" monitor set at 1280*1024 is the reason i disagree but yes i will make it an issue for people for low res to use it....

Yeah i know....construtive critisism is what i wanted..it does need a bit more work as it is not totally finished..i just wanted peoples input before i upload a finished version that i think kicks ass when no one else does and get p155ed off at everyone for knocking what i have done.

Thanks for your time...ill try n change it 4 the better.

Cheers

nevawlkalone, what I'd suggest is to go to an internet cafe or any pc that the website wasn't designed on and view the site online there. You'll then find that many of your links are broken as they're pointing at local addresses (ie the H drive on the PC you designed the site on) rather then to valid internet addresses. The main page that greets you on entering the site for example is a badlink...

Right...after looking into it..it seems the issue with the pages not loading was down to the way the pages were saved. The were linked to the entire file path NOT the file its self as Pondrew and Jamma14 pointed out.

Hope fully now you will be able to see the pages. The title bar is still not finished as i have to complete the logo and the IMAGE LINKS are in progress.

Keep the imput coming...more ideas are needed of what i can put on here!

Main page still linked to a local file:

frame src="file:///H|/Dreamweaver/site/mainpage.html"
Also skins still linked locally:
a href="file:///H|/Dreamweaver/site/Screens.html"

You seemed to have fixed all the other image links though ;)

A few things jump out - red on blue text = bad, in fact colours often seem a problem, links on link page are blue on blue until clicked, use a spellchecker!, formatting is off for instance

Amoung the possible uploads are - Photos of the s*** i get up to with my mates

- I hope to get a guestbook up and running

- Smartphone hints/tips/home screens - Possible collaboration with other sites to gain correct information

The line starting smartphone hints should either wrap or the part starting - Possible collaboration should be on the next line

Hope things are going well!

I can't beleive nobody has advised you to get rid of the frames yet! Frames are a big no-no in the world of web design. I'm not sure what sort of course you've been on, but if they taught you how to use frames without warning you of the problems with them, I hope you didn't pay too much for the course!

For a start, frames impede search engines in finding and indexing your site, but this is probably not a priority at the moment. More importantly printing your site becomes difficult for novices. I know it's fairly easy to select which frame you want to print, but beleive me people will struggle! And probably most important of all is that there are still many browsers out there that cannot display frames, particularly mobile device browsers.

My advice is to get yourself a copy of Dreamweaver or something similar that uses templates. They'll save you a LOT of time and can completely replace the need for frames!

Good Luck!

People have suggested it...i am currently designing CSS templates to get the different colours i want/need to achieve the way it looks now!

I am using dreamweaver! lol ;)

The text is soon to go once i finish the Picture links!

The lnks on the left frame are to different pages within the site and the colour the links turn as standard is nearly the same colour as the background thats why they are red!

The last line is ment to be that way....as i dont know enough about WM i need help from others!

N spelling is a big issue with me...have trouble with it and i have someone to check my pages and they are obviously suck lol....

Cheers for the imput guys

Cool, but on the formatting thing it displays correctly on this forum but on your page, on Firefox on my 1080x720 display it looks like this:

- Smartphone hints/tips/home screens - Possible collaboration

with other sites to gain correct information
