SPV C600 Menu shortcuts broken!

Hi guys, I've got a weird problem with my Orange SPV C600 handset. This is the second unit from Orange (the joystick went on the first - it's going on this one too but I digress).

I have attached a screenshot of the problem, namely that instead of having numeric keyboard shortcuts on my menus, I have letters and I can't access the menu selections with the keypad. My previous C600 worked properly (as does a mate of mine's C600) so I don't know what's going on!

OS 5.1.70 (Build 14402.1.1.0)

Hope someone can help - it's annoying ;)
