Moving from Palm to WinMobile2005

I've just got myself an Orange SPVM600 having used Palms for about 10 years. Are there any recommeded guides to making the move?

I've synced data and worked out the basic functions but a couple of things are puzzling me.

1) Notes seem to appear bundled in with documents and system files. I was a heavy user of notes on palm and on the Outlook desktop. How do i get them into categories and get some more functionality? Is there a third party app that will sort them out if it's not in the OS? If notes don't work like this on mobile2005 what should i be usign (that will sync to my desktop)

2) How can i Search? i put various bits of 'metadata' in my contacts - eg if i'm looking for someones partner i usually put their name in the note of the attached person's contact details then searched for their name. Also theres lots of stuff in my notes that i need to search for (and sometimes appointments too.)

3) i used YAPS (yet another password store) for all my passwords on my Palm. Is there a good, free or cheap, equivalent for winmobile?

I think that's the main irritations so far.

That's how it works. The idea is that all of the personal data goes in My Documents, and has no more than one subfolder under there. When you select "rename/move" on a note, you can change it's name or which folder it's in.

I'm not a fan of this system; it's intended to make things easier on novices I reckon, but I'd just rather see the full path to my data please. There are a couple replacements for the "save as" dialog that let you do this, but I've yet to try them.

That's not built in. There are a few replacement PIMs that essentially replace all of the MS applications, adding things like search. Personally, I use a Today plugin called PocketBreeze, it gives you notes/mail/tasks/appointments access from the Today screen, as well as search abilities.

I use the commercial "Code Wallet" app that syncs with it's PC brethern, however there are some free ones, another recent discussion had some links. Try:

http://keepass.sourceforge.net/

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ppcpasswords/ (very early stages)
