Guest mr_yellow Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Hi all, I've recently learnt of the unofficial WM5 upgrade for many devices(specifically typhoon). I don't really want to discuss how or why, but I am curious as to whether this WM5 upgrade has "fixed" certain behaviours in WM2003 that basically crippled the device. The feature I speak of is BT voicedialing with the Keypad lock on. Will WM5 not allow this to happen or does it work? Can anyone who has ventured off into that realm confirm or deny the above? Thanks,
Guest mr_yellow Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 Can anyone who's upgraded to WM5 on their audiovox or other typhoon phone confirm this?
Guest mr_yellow Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 No one here has WM5 installed on their typhoon phone?
Guest mr_yellow Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 No one here has WM5 installed on their typhoon phone? I finally got my miniSD card and figured out the following: 0) I flashed my SMT5600 on Rogers to WM5 1) I tested with my bluetooth headset. and YES you can voicedial while the handset is keylocked!!!!!!! w00t!!! I recommend everyone upgrade if they have the balls. WM5 is a bit slower, but the fact that all the PITA "features" that wm2k3 had are all corrected now.. I couldn't be happier.
Guest Tech Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 discussion of illegal flashing/OS upgrading is prohibited from these forums. Get a device which already has a genuine version of WM5.
