Orange SPV M600 - Phone dialling screen background

Hi everyone,

I have just had my new SPV M600 delivered and having had a play around with it I'm really liking it.

One of the remaining gripes I have is that when making a call (or going to dial a number) the background has a grey/dark grey background with grey buttons and black text which makes it very hard to see (especially with my eyesight! ;) )

Does anyone know how I can change the colours of this screen and text, or just how to make the text larger, or both?

Damn, just typed a lovely reply and then lost it before I posted so this description may not be as good but here goes... and I'm stuck at work and the England game is on... oh well at least I'm recording it!

Right, I copied the Bkgnd_land.bmp and Bkgnd_port.bmp files out of the Windows folder and altered them (just added a white bar above where the buttons would be) using Paint Shop Pro.

I think I've attached the files here...

Bkgnd_Land_white.bmpBkgnd_Port_white.bmp

Renamed them and copied them back into the windows folder.

I then downloaded Resco File Explorer which has a registry editor and changed the bmpNormal key to the new file names (and path!) in the following keys:

HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS\portrait\other

HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS\landscape\other

HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\DIALER\portrait\other

HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\DIALER\landscape\other

(Better just add the usual disclaimer that mucking around in the registry is dangerous and you can screw your phone up! I suppose the old rule applies: If you're not sure, don't, and don't blame me if it does!)

Worked a treat! I can even read who's calling now!!! :)

From what I've read you can do the same with loads of the other buttons, and the super-dialling-drop-down menu-thingy, but I think I'll stick with this boring white bar version until I have more time to play with designs and colours, at least I can read it!!!
