Guest StuBFrost Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 I have searched the forums but I am stuck on a couple of things. I have today recieved an MDA Vario and I can happily move around the screen with the cursor pad. However, I can't work out how to get the start menu to drop down without using the stylus. Is this correct ? Also, I thought I could dial a number by pressing the green phone key and again using the cursor pad to select the numbers to dial but the cursor pad does not seem to do anything. Does this mean I have to keep using the stylus for these things as I was hoping to use it without relying on the stylus. I don't want to use my fingers as they are chubby and I tend to hit more than 1 key at the same time. Thanks Stu
Guest ericharlz Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 for the start menu.. you can customize the button that you want to use to launch it.. Go to Settings>>(Buttons)Personal then choose which button u want to use to launch the Start (Buttons 1 - 5) for the dial pad, it should work when u press the Call button and close when u press the Call Cancel button. not sure why it won't launch when u press the green Call button
Guest Alsicole Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 For phone calls when the device is shut it's designed that you press the green phone button to open up the dialler and then use the Contacts softkey to open contacts then scroll to the person and number you want to call. There isn't really an ideal option if you're not using the contacts list.

I have to get the stylus out to press the number buttons (if it is a non-contact number) and then press talk. I can then put the stylus away. I thought I would be able to use the cursor pad to pick off the numbers I want.
