New to the site. I am employed overseas and will be returning to the US in about a month. I am a T-Mobile (USA) subscriber. I am contemplating purchasing the T-Mobile SDA or an unlocked I-mate SP5m while I'm overseas. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which would be the better choice.

Come back and get SDA from T-Mobile, you will have full warranty, and people to talk to if you have problems (may not be the best people for this job everytime, but still you might hit an experienced one..)

Also you should be able to get it for cheaper from T-Mobile.

Good Luck

Good ideas. But won't the T-Mobile be a locked phone? I was always told to buy the unlocked version because it allowed changes. I do like cheaper though.

Thanks

Unlocking is easy, and its documented well here. Its also a necessary step for you to be able to upgrade your tmobile sda to Imate's new rom.

Cheaper! You betcha!

I have the T-Mobile SDA and I've never had to do an application unlock. I've never had a problem installing anything. It's the best phone I've ever had. as a matter of fact, I'm replying to this topic from it now.
