Guest Tiredandjaded Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Well I finally gotten around to using my MDA Compact ii, and while imputting the settings and what not, the sound doesn't work? As I set the ringtones and pressed the play button to preview there is nothing; even when I try calling it there is no sound; the vibrate function does work. Volume is at max for the machine and phone; I'm not even sure if there is sound at all atm since I haven't put any media or songs on my phone atm. Addition info: The stuff that came with the phone was in german (info books/manual and the discs are too) but the os and every thing they set up the phone with is in english; So basically the PC based discs I haven't installed, are basically it is just Activesync of which I can d-l from Microsoft's site, but as for the Applications disc I'm not totally sure what is on that disc and where would I pick stuff up from off the net if there is anything important? or could have to do with the sound issue? Thanks in advance
Guest fraser Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Can you play ANY sound at all e.g. make a phone call? Try opening media player, it might have a little intro video with sound that you can use to test. Personally, I've never used any of the disks that came with my phone. Activesync was old and out of date and I've never needed the rest.

As for opening media player; the bee on the flower mini clip it came with there was no sound (not sure if there is sound for that clip tho), and in terms of the phone not ringing is the biggest issue since I always miss calls since I don't hear someone calling and vibrate isn't a viable option when you don't have it on your person when the phone vibrates.
Guest fraser Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Try installing PPCProfiles, it's a util that looks after your system sounds and volumes. It lets you configure a lot more things, and tries to maintain your settings for you.
