Guest pd.ryder Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I'm frantically trying to sync my C550 with my work email system. IT were good enough to intall ActiveSync 4.1 for me ( ;) ) and left me to it. I've set up the server name, user name, password etc but ActiveSync information (on the PC) is telling me "Sync status is on the device" for Calender, Contacts and Inbox. I've checked the phones email folders and none of my work folders are present. It doesn't appear to have sync'd Inbox at all because it won't allow me to 'select' folders until I sync the Inbox, which is precisely what I'm trying to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated :P
Guest jimbouk Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Do you have connection to the server with your laptop/pc? Have your IT people enabled your mail account for mobile use? Whats the error message on the device? When it says "sync status is on the device", you click in activesync on the device and it tells you a specific error code - such as "Internet29" or "http50"
Guest pd.ryder Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Yes, I've got a stable connection from the PC to the server. The error code on the 550 is DEV_9 and states "The connection failed due to missing server information or user credentials." and invites me to check my settings. I'm quite used to setting up mine and other staff's access to the server for corporate mail thru Outlook, so I know the server name etc, although Outlook doesn't request a domain name in the way this is. I think I'll need IT to sort this one out for me, but I was quite specific about why I wanted ActiveSync installed and they didn't volunteer any other information or suggest changes to my account settings. Ho-hum, that's IT folk for you I suppose ;)
