Just turn on the wfi and when it finds your network just made the same setup as you did on your computer.

Depends on whether you are using wifi to connect the laptop to the internet. If not, then you need to set your laptop's wifi connection settings up to share its internet connection, turn your wifi on in ad hoc mode, and then set your device up to connect to any access point or ad hoc network.

Tried many things in configuration but failed. My desktop is connected to the internet. I can connect to my desktop via WiFi at least this is the status i can see on my Qtek - "connected".

However when I try to open a web site it says "check your connection settings"?

Can you guys guide me step by step what and how to set up on the desktop side as well as in my Qtek ?

I'd appreciate your help and patience ;-)

Cheers

Go to network settings and choose your lan connection (the one you connect to your router with). right click it, select properties, then go to advanced tab. Make sure internet connection sharing is enabled.

Try do disable your firewall. If it solves the problem, you need to configure it.

I am able to connect my SP5 to the wifi router directly -- I don't see why the laptop is required. I remember there was a timeout in the phone wifi settings to conserve battery. That could be the reason for the disconnect. If you have any security/encryption on the wifi router and don't have those entered on the phone, you might get this behavior.
