internet connection not available

I have encountered a very strange behaviour with the new ROM - dont know whether the ROM is the cause but he we go:

-I get an error when trying to connect to PIE via wifi that my data settings are not setup properly, this has always worked before, but streaming audio via Resco Radio works fine... The PIE problem appeared just today, I have been able to use it as normal for one week since I upgraded the ROM.

Connecting to the internet via active sync works fine.

What can be the cause of this?
