Guest zippster Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 hi ho guys, been reading this forum for a long time, as i have been playing with smartphones for years and personally its my first port of call when i have an issue. Well this time im all searched out and really need assistance. at my workplace we have a handful of qtek 8100 and have sucsessfully setup pushmail,works a treat until we realised that we have no options to lookup an address in the global address list??? i can only use email addresses in my contacts currently or unless i type in the full address? am i missing something or is there no GAL support?? everything i have read suggests that there is but i cannot seem to find it? my college actaully had the option untill we made him delete his settings and start again, now hes in teh same boat. we have narrowed it down to the phone rather than server as his did work until we removed all the settings! we are both exchange/domain admins so im not suspecting a permissions problem either! Can anyone help? Thanks in advance Andy..
Guest jimbouk Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 As long as you have SP2 on the server (and GAL is enabled on the server) and an AKU2 (MSFP) rom on the device, GAL is enabled. In emails, contacts or phone app, simply click menu and "Find Online" will open a GAL search field.

In emails, contacts or phone app, simply click menu and "Find Online" will open a GAL search field. thanks for th reply but i definatly have sp2 installed on the server, GAL enabled, and i have just flashed/de vodafoned:) my 5 hour old to the aku2 firmware off the myqtek site as a last resort and its still not there ;) im just not getting the find online option, as i say my college did have that option until we removed his settings and now there gone. surely its something simple im doing wrong my rom is version 2.17.7.2 WWE date 2/10/06 radio 02.07.10 protocol 413.1.03 extrom 2.17.7.102 Andy..
Guest jimbouk Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 (edited) Back to basics: have you got everything else working re exchange server activesync eg mail sync, directpush etc ? If so, I am wondering if its a server setting as the rom will have it enabled by default but when you deleted and re set up your colleagues device the server settings for the account may not be right and thus GAL isn't available.
