Guest Brendanmx5 Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Does anyone know what the .dsm, .rgu, .mui, .htm files are? I know an htm is a html document, but it doesnt seem to be one on my phone. Most of these files have almost the same exact string of names except on character off. theres a LOT of them and i want to clear up some memory on my device. Are these safe to remove?
Guest mandt Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Try a bit of trial and error... You could make a temporary folder on your storage card and move the files there, if there are any adverse effects then you can restore them back again, or delete the files if everything runs ok
Guest xda_gangsta Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I wouldn't do that. That could possibly not let you to move them back later. I would just leave them, I mean, do they bother you that much? Be safe.. once I was messing around with my and completely broke my phone... even a hardreset wouldn't fix it... so I would just leave them but I don't know what they do.
Guest Matt Kirby Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Courtsey of www.filext.com: .DSM: Many possibilities, most likely: Developer Studio Macro (it does say for VBA, but could be Smartphone as well) .MUI: Config resource file, from Microsoft. .RGU: Who knows! I wouldn't touch any of them, it's highly unlikely that they are not genuine needed files.
