Guest mark.lucas Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 (edited) Hi Just went to upgrade to 1.30.162 to get DirectPush working and the phone's USB link crashed during the upgrade (it had a T-Mobile SIM in it but so what). Now the phone won't start, and even doing a hard reset just gets the "Reset to factory options press 0" option which I do and it closes down with no change - i.e. it won't boot. Help, please. Thanks Mark Edited May 6, 2006 by mark.lucas
Guest jimbouk Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Can you get it in bootloader mode? Plug it in to USB, Hold camera button and press soft reset. The device should then enter USB bootloader mode. You should then be able to run the upgrade program across from your pc.
Guest mark.lucas Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Jim Many thanks for the suggestion. Unfortuntely this doesn't do anything - no visible repeconse from the device. I've tried both cold and when in the 0 for factory reset, X to exit mode. Any other thoughts? Mark

Mark Since you've got an XDA exec (which is a universal not a wizard) try pressing and holding power and light while you reset, that should get you into bootloader mode, you won't see much since the backlight is off but have a look with a strong light source and see what it says on the screen. If it doesn't have v 1.00 bootloader or greater then that might be your problem, either sent it back to O2 for repair or go over to xda-developers.com and get instructions there on how to upgrade your bootloader.

Thanks for this - yes I can get to the bootloader 1.00 but is says serial at the top of the screen and the install app can't find the device - so I guess I'm off to xda-developers.com. Thanks - I'll update based on my experiences!
