For those who have tried the A2DP "patch", I'm interested to hear if you've had any success.

For me:

Globalstat BTH-820

-horrible range (~2m)

-sound quality distorts moderately/badly at higher frequencies

-with my desktop: could not get it to work at all

MSI FS300

-good range (~8m)

-ok sound quality, but higher frequencies are again somewhat distorted

-with my desktop: sound quality is very good except for some faint, intermittent "popping" in the background

I was thinking of trying the Nokia HS-12W, but another Tornado user has reported terrible range (~1m) and lots of hissing... From what I've heard, the i.Tech R35 seems to be the best performer.

The strange thing is that the same headsets are performing VERY differently depending on the device (phone, desktop, whatever) that it's paired with. I wonder why that is... optimizations for a certain Bluetooth chipset maybe?

Kind of defeats the purpose of having "standard" profiles like A2DP if devices are so selective in which other devices they'll work with ;)
