Guest Manfish Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 I have a problem when attempting to establish a terminal services connection when connected to a VPN. I can establish a vpn connection no problem and perform active sync over the vpn etc. But as soon as I try to use the TS client it drops the VPN even though I am attempting to connect to a private IP. Is there any way of preventing the TS client from dropping the VPN tunnel? TS client works fine connecting to a public IP address.
Guest fraser Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Does the TS client differentiate between the "work" and "public" networks? Perhaps it's dropping the VPN because it thinks it is supposed to use the "public" network.
Guest Manfish Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 I think this is the case, how can I tell which network the TS client uses as its prefered network? Is it possible to change this setting? Sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question but I only got the device a few days ago.
Guest fraser Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Good question, I've no idea. I took a look at the app, but there isn't much in the way of configuration. Did a little google, this thread may be of interest to you: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/ng/microsoft.pu...ost10094461.asp and http://www.eggheadcafe.com/ng/microsoft.pu...ost21485706.asp From skimming those I got the impression that alternate (better) TS clients are available. Might be worthwhile checking them out.
