Guest cthulhu Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 On my last 2 bills with T-Mobile Web'n'Walk, I've been charged Premium Rate (approx 67p per minute) for calls to a specific 0844 number. I queried the first one, and after a week managed to get a refund and a promise that this would be sorted out on future bills. However, after phoning up regarding the charge on my latest bill, I was told that this is the correct rate for an 0844 number thru t-Mobile. After arguing that their web site does not specifically state this, I was begrudgingly offered another refund on my next bill, and told that the web site would be updated. Has anyone else had this problem with T-Mobile, and if so, how was it resolved? Can T-Mobile charge what they like for an 0844 call, I thought they were regulated by Ofcom or whoever? I'm a bit worried about making any calls to non-geographic numbers now, just in case they end up being charged at a premium rate. I was also kept hanging onto their line for around 20 minutes while they searched for an answer to my query - luckily I was calling from a landline and not 150 on the mobile!
Guest chucky.egg Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Cant tell you about T-Mobile and non-geo numbers, but you might find http://www.saynoto0870.com useful Not sure if they ONLY do alternatives to 0870 numbers - you might find a "regular" number replacement for your 0844 number
