mp3 ring tones stop working

for some damb reason not known to myself my mp3 ringtones have stopped working. they show up in setting>sounds but just wont play as a tone but will play through windows media player.

need help urgently as standard tones are a embarasment and am used to having decent tracks as my ring tone

Have you installed another media player (TCPMP is usually the culprit) which has taken over the file association for MP3s ?

If so, either uninstall it and see if that helps or use Smart Explorer to reassociate MP3s with Windows Media Player.
