Would anyone know how to reorder the start menu icons? I have not seen any products or hacks for the Windows Mobile 5 which allow this. It would also be nice to have the option of changing the start menu into list form instead of just icons. I have noticed that there is a program called gStart menu, but it's for smartphone 2003. I tried it and it didn't work on my phone (T-Mobile SDA). Perhaps I did something wrong; I'm not sure. Any help would be very welcome. Thanks in advance.

By the way, here is a link to the gStart Menu program:

To Change the order of your START menu

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMenu

You can change the order in the Value data to however you like it.

I'm sorry if this is a dim witted question, but how do you edit the registry? Any particular programs for WM 5?

For free you can get:

Total commander is a file explorer with a built in registry editor and can be found HERE

or

PHM Registry editor can be found HERE, not tried this one on my wizard but the smartphone version was very good

Personally I use Resco file explorer with it's built in registry editor although its not freeware

Actually what I would be interested is how to change the way icons appear in the start menu..

Can I just turn it into a line order, or at least make icons smaller so more than just 9 appears in the screen. Maybe 12 so that I can still use 0, * and #..

any ideas?

I use abstract start (http://homepages.inspire.net.nz/~gambit/AbstractStart/) you can change the look a little bit and reorder it anyway you like. It's free so even if you think it sucks your not out anything.

btw phm is great little editor, but personally I prefer mobile registry editor (sorry don't have a link handy). It runs on the pc so its a little easier to input data. Of course since I haven't tried total commander (lucky for me there is a smartphone version) I'll have to check that out too.
