Guest nyzrox Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 (edited) Just a quick one really, i am a owner of a m500, and got my m600 delivered this morning! Looking on the m600 it doesnt have the program "Backup" So i cant restore all my stuff, mainly what i am after is messages, is there a folder within the phone i can just copy off and paste onto desktop threw ActiveSync and then just send it onto my m600, or use my SD Card, as alot of these messages are important to me and id like them on the new handset. Also, how do i go about reinstalling windows Mobile on the m500 ready for selling... An one last thing, how do you actually shut the m500 down, i can do the m600 but the m500, is it possible to acctually turn it off without removing the battery cover... Cheers for what help is given. Guest jimbouk Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 1) Outlook will sync your emails, contacts and calendar items. Sync your sms messages to outlook using the trial version of Jeyo mobile - its an outlook plug in that syncs Sms's Once you;ve done that: 2) On the M500 - either use the clear storage app in programs or hard reset: turn the phone off, then press the reset button (under the bottom flap) whilst holding the power button down 3) You need to remove the battery to power it off as it has no persistent memory storage - so it can only standby by design.

Do you mean outlook on my pc, as i dont have outlook on the m500... 2) On the M500 - either use the clear storage app in programs or hard reset: turn the phone off, then press the reset button (under the bottom flap) whilst holding the power button down Thanks for that, im unsure if the phone has actual windows Mobile as there is no orange branding in the os but there is on m600 3) You need to remove the battery to power it off as it has no persistent memory storage - so it can only standby by design. Not a very good design if you ask me, atleast the m600 can be turned off. Edited May 11, 2006 by nyzrox
Guest Crudeboy Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Hi I am using M500 user (unlocked), thinking of upgrading to M600 (my newly bought O2 Mini is unsuitable for my needs)... appreciate some help: 1. I am having problem (after restoring a backup) in sending and receiving SMS with mt M500. Tried with diff sim cards but its the same thing.. any ideas? 2. If I carry out hard reset my M500, does it need to be unlocked again? 3. Does the M600 has similar option clean install after a hard reset as the O2 Mini, i.e. corporate install which install the basic option without the carrier softwares/ modifications? If not, what is the best ROM version I should install? Thanks!

The phone will still remain unlocked. 3. Not too sure as I dont have the M600 yet but there should be other ROMs available if required. ;)
