Guest xda_gangsta Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) We all know Kl1wdr, the owner and founder of www.kleinweder.ch who has made significant contributions to the Windows Mobile realm by creating many home screens for people literally worldwide to better enjoy their powerful Windows Mobile devices. Unfortunately, Microsoft has recently forced Kl1wdr to shutdown his website because Microsoft disapproves him using their trademark Windows flag and or other copyright objects. This petition has been created in hopes Kl1wdr will continue working on home screens and for Microsoft to reconsider. Now, the motive here is NOT to criticize Microsoft Edited May 12, 2006 by xda_gangsta
Guest Newchurch Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 FIRST ONE ;) Great idea, I' ve put a link to this thread at german mobilejoe.de forum. There you can find a posting from Phibs (Philip Kleinweder) himself. Greetings Newchurch

Guest padla99 Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) Kl1wdr, mach weiter so, Du bist der beste!!! I hope, he can just remove the themes with the built-in MS logo, and continue his work. Maybe he/somebody (a lawyer) can write to MS a letter to get a permission to continue his site/work without these themes. In my opinion without his themes MS smartphones will lose their faces. I think, more than 50% of smartphone users, who are not just using them to make a call have his themes installed. Kl1wdr, mach weiter so, Du bist der beste!!! Edited May 12, 2006 by padla99
Guest chucky.egg Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I suspect there is a way around this problem - can the logo be obscurred in the screenshots etc? Anyway, we're behind you Kleinweder - your skins are the best.

You could always lock the device's keypad - that way the start button isn't displayed ;) But yes - bring back the Kleinweder homescreens, we miss them dearly.

Guest The14given Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Kleinweder I love your Homescreens. I hope you can continue.
Guest avianquest Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) hi kleinweder, it's just a sidescene... don't freeze... you're an icon...an inspiration for current and future home skinners Continue on and just keep giving them a dose of beautiful homescreens. Let them drool with what you've got. They can't take away your brilliance and unbound creativity. Cheers! ~AvianQuest Edited May 12, 2006 by avianquest
Guest jimbouk Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 It is fairly simple to get approved by MS as a "designed for windows mobile" developer and thus have blanket approval to use their logos. Hope you go for it and can thus continue unhindered.
Guest sporkguy Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Many thanks for returning the homescreens kl1wdr, I've just downloaded a load I like just incase they disappear again! Keep up the great work buddy
Guest mr_end Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Kleinweder does great homescreens. I use them all the time. I am saddened to hear that about his site.
Guest drblow Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Very strange ... I guess that the MS spys didn't come sniffing around here, coz there's a couple of my themes that use windows logos ... why just pick on Kleinweider?? Hmm ... anyway, glad to see that it is now back in operation.
Guest ericharlz Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 tsk.. they even get free advertisement with those kinds of homeskins...
Guest Jamma14 Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Glad it's back up! But I don't get their reasoning, if it says windows mobile etc or has the windows logo on it (and it's a non profit homescreen) then surely it's good advertising for them? Can't see the problem... Also there are tons and tons of other screens that use windows logos etc, I can't see how it can be anything but good for them when others look at the phones with the awesome themes on. Like someone said they should be pleased as well, as some people might think Microsoft made them, and they're much better than any they can come up with...
Guest w411y Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Just a quick Q... what made you put them back up considering you'd been told not to?
Guest thangday Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Thanks Kl1wdr for his great contribution to our smartphone community around the world. MS should consider his efforts to bring the Windows Mobile OS to be more friendly to the users.
Guest jaycounet Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 courage for your studies and shade fur deine homesite ! hope you it will back soon !
Guest w411y Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 Well now his sites back up, isn't is wierd that all his MS branded skins are still there (eg. Vista, Windows Blue etc) and all this fuss a week after a donation button was put on his site. Sorry but it makes you wonder... But yeh the homescreens there are amazing and pure photoshop beauty
