Basically, if it came with German rom, you are pretty much screwed, because it won't let you change Language.

Otherwise, if it was pre-loaded, try

Start/Settings (or press 9), Mehr.. (Or press 0), Regional Einstellugen (or press 2), and you will see Sprache [Deutch], try to change it to US-English or GB-English..

Otherwise,m get the rom image and reflash it with EN rom.

To flash the ROM means you basically wipe the phone's memory and then install a new operating system.

flashing the ROM is fairly straightforward but can carry risks, for example if you stop the process or your pc crashes it can potentially kill the phone.

This is rare but you need to be aware as you are new to the device.

If you wish to use an O2 ROM have a look here,

http://xda.o2.co.uk/xdaMiniSoftware.aspx

The problem you may have is that you are asked to enter your IMEI, as your phone is from Germany this may prevent you from downloading the ROM.

Also depending on the locked state of your phone you may need to CID unlock before flashing of the ROM from another country/network is possible.

Moved to teh Wizard section.
