reminder hell

This is driving me batty, I've just upgraded from an orange spv c500 to a t-mobile mda vario and the reminders aren't.

To explain:

I have several recurring reminders in general they work reliably.

However if I reschedule a recurring reminder, for example if I adjust the time by 15 minutes on one occurrence. I will get notifications from Outlook and the C500 but not the Vario.

Subsequent occurrences of that reminder happening at the originally scheduled time work as expected.

Looking closely, it seems that Pocket PC can not handle one off changes to a recurring reminder thereby nullifying 50% of the point of the recurring reminder!

Anyone know a sensible way to make recurring reminders work with one variations?

More to the point why can the cut down windows smartphone 2003 handle them & not the bigger & better windows mobile 5?

Note currently the only 3rd party software installed are SPB Pocket Plus & SPB Backup.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
