Guest jsincla Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Just upgraded to a C600 after a couple of years of C500 use. Odd - they seem to have replicated the first round C500 problem. I.e. when the phone is locked, pressing any key puts on the screen backlight - a major cause of battery drain. On the C500, you had to press the left hand soft key to get the screen to awaken. What have I missed, or is this a bug?
Guest ljames28 Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Happens to me too, didn't think about it but i guess it would be a major battery drain. I have the latest Qtek rom on my Qtek 8310 and it does that.

Guest Swampie Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 No, just pressing the left soft key is all you need on the C500 to bring the light on and see the screen without unlocking it. In the C600, any key does this, which if my experience with an unlocked C500 in my pocket is anything to go by, will result in lots of times the light will come on, and the light is THE most draining thing on a phone I believe - even more than making a call.

So really no-one noticed this fault? Very odd - I think I may send the phone back because when it's in your pocket it beeps away because effectively the key pad lock is rubbish! Talk about a backward step!
