Guest thenext1 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Some time ago there were beautiful days when I had 12 mb free on the phone memory. ;) One day, I copied the Opera CAB on the phone memory. I launched it, but I recalled that I needed to do another thing first so I canceled the installation before choosing the destination (phone or memory card). Now I have no more than 4.2 mb free on the phone memory. The CAB has deleted or moved itself (as it always happens) but I can't find It anywhere. I searched for all files with RESCO mobile explorer, sorted the result by size, and the bigger file is no near 4 mb (that was approximately the size of the opera CAB). Obviously I was including hidden files. There were no large non-system files. It seems as if the ROM shrunk itself by 8 megs. Now after a little bit of browsing, IE tells me blah blah blah You're low on device memory.... Has someone had similar experiences?
Guest kam_ Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Usually failed installs end up on your device in \windows\appmgr Look there for opera and delete the folder (asuming u definately didn't install it) or at least the cab file (if you did previously install it, but cancelled on an upgrade etc) If you want to save a little space you can actually copy the contents of that whole AppMgr folder to your strage card. It holds uninstall information for the respective programs, so when you want to uninstall simply move the files back.

Guest Wzierbovsky Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I've got a related question on this about the installation of programs. After some failed installations, I've got a few entries of these programs that shows up on Activesync => Tools => Add/Remove programs, but they don't show up on the phone's Settings => Add/Remove Programs list. These programs are invariably homescreen themes. I've looked at the Application Data/Home subdirectory, and these files aren't there anymore, but the Activesync entries remain. How do I go about removing them? Thanks!
