Guest Tim Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Do either the Your Page or location based parts of the Orange website work on anyone's M600. If you try to go to Your Page, which worked fine on my C550, it says - 'Sorry, this service is not available at the moment as we cannot identify the phone number you are using' If you go to 'Orange Finder' it says - 'We are sorry but we cannot determine your mobile number. It would appear that you are not currently using the Orange WAP settings on your phone... etc'. But I am.

Guest Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 it works on mine if i log in using gprs but if i try to connect using wifi, i get the same problem I have exactly the same problem on my M600, whereby Orange World won't recognise my phone number and hence won't load my personal "Your Page" settings. I have had several SPVs in the past and it has always worked before. I have phoned Orange who have advised me to set my Port settings to 8080 but this didn't solve the problem. It is a problem they're aware of and they're trying to find a solution. k3v you seem to be in the minority getting Your Page to load properly on your M600 - has anyone else successfully managed to get Orange World to recognise their M600?

Further to my post yesterday, with the help of Trevor at Orange Customer Services, I have managed to resolve this problem (at least I think it was Trevor!). He told me to add a new connection, but modifying the existing Orange GPRS WAP connection works perfectly. Go to Start-Settings-Connections-Connections Click Manage existing connections Select Orange GPRS WAP Click Edit Click Next Rename the Access point name to orangeinternet (all lower case) Click Next - all 3 fields should be blank Click Advanced Select the Servers tab Tap the Use specific server address button Set DNS: to 158.43.192.1 Set Alt DNS: to 158.43.128.1 OK this screen and click Finish I then selected the Auto pick button before OKing this final screen and exiting Connections. Hope all this helps!
Guest budadank Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 (edited) I had this issue immediately after switching from my C550 to M600. At first I thought that it was because I didn't get my M600 from Orange (bought a used one from Computer Exchange), and as I was on a different IMEI that Orange wouldn't let me see "My Page" anymore. After looking in my settings however, I changed the default connection in connection settings from "Orange GPRS" to "Orange Internet". There should be 3 to choose form, Orange WAP, GPRS and Internet. This solved the problem. Not sure why, was just experimenting. k3v: Unfortunately, you won't be able to access Orange WAP pages from your WiFi connection as Orange use your phone number to identify you. WiFi won't allow this. Edited July 12, 2006 by budadank
