Guest chucky.egg Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I had heard of a registry change (that might be what you tried), but haven't tried it Haven't heard of any other ways to do it
Guest pdtp Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 This was the reg hack i tried ; Set keyboard backlight timeout to 30 seconds [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Backlight] "QKeyLedTimeout"=dword:0000001e got it from the mobility today forums.
Guest chucky.egg Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Hmm Looks odd, but what do I know? DWORD values are normally 0,1,2 etc So you went to HKCU \ ControlPanel \ Backlight and created a DWORD key with a value of 0000001e ??? I found link that says this: HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedtimeout I use 60 and this work great for me. Not sure why Microsoft didn't allow up to 1 minute to begin with. http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthre...t=111537&page=2 But I dont know if the Treo is different in that respect. Theres a reference on XDA Developers to the same key for the Universal I also found another reference from Modaco that refers to HK Local Machine: HKLM,"ControlPanel\Backlight","QKeyLedTimeout",0x00010001,15 http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&showtop...ndpost&p=727824 But again there may be differences between devices
Guest chucky.egg Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Ah, just found this: Actually that regedit does not work on the Wizard series, only the Apache (6700). The ledtimeout has not been able to be hacked for the 8125, K-Jam, QTek 9100, etc. http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthre...t=111537&page=2
