I had heard of a registry change (that might be what you tried), but haven't tried it

Haven't heard of any other ways to do it

This was the reg hack i tried

; Set keyboard backlight timeout to 30 seconds

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Backlight]

"QKeyLedTimeout"=dword:0000001e

got it from the mobility today forums.

Hmm

Looks odd, but what do I know?

DWORD values are normally 0,1,2 etc

So you went to HKCU \ ControlPanel \ Backlight and created a DWORD key with a value of 0000001e ???

I found link that says this:

HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedtimeout

I use 60 and this work great for me. Not sure why Microsoft didn't allow up to 1 minute to begin with.

But I dont know if the Treo is different in that respect. Theres a reference on XDA Developers to the same key for the Universal

I also found another reference from Modaco that refers to HK Local Machine:

HKLM,"ControlPanel\Backlight","QKeyLedTimeout",0x00010001,15

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&showtop...ndpost&p=727824

But again there may be differences between devices
