Power Button on XDA Mini = Hard Reset? Wtf!?

Hi guys.. ive been a happy owner of a XDA mini for a year now.

Though this morning i wake up turn my phone on (from standby with the power button) as normal and the unit Hard Resets..

I think ok.. wierd.. so run thru the usual crap and get it up and running again.. then hit the power button again to put it into standby and bang! it HARD resets again..

DAMNIT! now i cant touch the power button anymore..

So i set it up not to drop into standby anymore.. though now i have to be real careful with the screen..

So im trying to find a way to make the password screen come up after a delay without waiting for standby.

Or any other fix.

Please help thanks in advance.

(and oh yes its not the Soft Reset button stuck down - i checked)

Im considering pulling it apart.. or reflashing it though scared of killing it completely.)

Sounds like you need more than a software solution and the hardware fix is beyond me, but Screenguard will help you in the meantime. It is listed in my second post in this thread :
