Guest surfheli Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 does there exist an spv (wm5) blue tooth application that will stream mp3 from the laptop to the phone?
Guest Tech Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 unfortunatly not. However I may be workin on such a thing in the future as part of many projects I have
Guest mini_man Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 Actually this is possible! If you have bluetooth active sync set up with your computer then you can access something called orb. http://www.orb.com/ Set it up on your computer and it will access your documents e.g music, videos, tv and images. Then open up myorb on your phone browser and you can open streams of anything.
Guest surfheli Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 does this involve data charges, or do you link locally?
Guest mini_man Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 well you can use bluetooth active sync to cover the gprs data charges.
Guest surfheli Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 well you can use bluetooth active sync to cover the gprs data charges. Hi mini_man, I have setup myOrb, looks really useful, but I have failed miserably to understand how to connect via bluetooth using activesync. cheers nigel

Guest surfheli Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 http://www.modaco.com/Bulletproof-Guide-Al...th-t119341.html Thanks mini_man, nice guide but getting blutooth going is not a problem. Maybe i have misunderstood about connecting to Orb using activsync, I got the impression that you have done this through Activesync without GPRS charges?

Guest looeee Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Just put any web server on your desktop PC. IIS, apache, whatever. Set up a virtual directory to your music folder You don't need an internet connection to use it, but if you have your bluetooth activesync connected then you'll be able to browse the web server. Open up TCPMP and use its web browser. Yes TCPMP's web browser. In the File->Open dialog go Menu->Enter URL and type http:// choose the file you want to hear and it will stream it to you looeee
Guest mini_man Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 hey could you possibly make a kind of guide? Just put any web server on your desktop PC. IIS, apache, whatever. Set up a virtual directory to your music folder This bit confused me!
Guest surfheli Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 yeh, this sounds brilliant...I got a copy of Abyss webserver installed and alas it obviously needs much more tickling than just install and go :). A guide would be fantastic!!! cheers nigel
Guest surfheli Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 may i ask how? you may.... ill try and answear... installed 'abyss web server' cos it seemed simpler than the others set various paths to 'my shared documents' folder connected to pc using blue/sync using the core media player under fileopen / open url and typed the pc ip address and voila could see all the media files bloddy brill except that i seem to need the netwok cable plugged in to get it all started, then i can remove this cable and continue ok. Any ideas?
