Guest newbie_2 Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 I like my SDA a lot, but really want to have Chinese support. Supposedly, Dopod 586w is the Singapore version of US SDA. I searched and found a 586w.bin from the web. The file size is 44501520 bytes. I wonder if I can use it on my SDA. I will backup my current ROM before replacing it, but still want to check with you experts to see if there is any risk of doing the replacement. I don't want to try it, and end up with a dead 'smartphone'. Thanks a million!
Guest Pondrew Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 The Dopod 586w does indeed look to be the HTC Tornado model (the manufacturers name for your T-Mobile US SDA) BUT I'd still recommend against messing with the rom. You might end up with a nice expensive paperweight... As for what you would have to do with the x.bin file to flash it to your device, I wouldn't know I'm afraid!
