PSP games from abroad

Hi

Can you get games/movies for psp from abroad i.e America if i were to would it play on my english psp???

I think the PSP is region encoded, such as the other consoles on the market. Best thing to do is have a look on your existing boxes and see if there's any reference to PAL or Region 2 on them, if so - they its likely the PSP is region locked.

all psp games around the world will work on any psp, but the umd movies, thats just like a dvd, region encoded from where it was brought from.

But you will only be able to play against a buddy if he has the same region game to.

you cant play EG. UK Ridge Racer v USA Ridge Racer

But for one player all games from all regions work!

yeh, true, but my mate had Fired up USA i think and i had my UK psp and multiplayer (game sharing) worked fine. Maybe its the new games (proberly from april 2004, and after that) that aren't allowing multiplayer, damn you sony!!!

Its something to do with april 04 and the ROM version i think...
