Guest benbeni Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Here is also a link with instruction to unlock the SP5 and SP5m: http://spaces.msn.com/xpworld/Blog/cns!...A!198.entry I have followed those instructions exactly. I have done some analysis as to why this isn't working. I made the recommended 3 changes to the registry, but when executing the unlock utility it then changes 2 of these values to something else. Is this intended? It still isn't working for me on my SP5 - any help to resolve would be much appreciated.
Guest leethacker Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I recommend the following unlock tutorial: http://robertpeloschek.blogspot.com/2006/0...ur-windows.html This one works with every Windows Mobile phone. And I can confirm that. :-)

Guest benbeni Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Thank you my friend!! It work perfectly now!! Thanks!! ;) :P
Guest One-Note Pony Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I was having the same problem. My Cingular 2125 was SIM-unlocked and the CID reset, so I managed to apply the Imate SP5 ROM - but after following all sorts of unlock instructions, reg changes, unlock tools, I couldn't app-unlock it. The reg changes for 00001001 would hold, but on reboot the 00001005 would revert to the original value, and 00001017 would change to 16, which was neither the original nor the changed value. I've MOSTLY gotten it working, and here's what I did: I did the reg changes at http://robertpeloschek.blogspot.com/2006/0...ur-windows.html, which includes one more key than most of the unlock guides. I made sure that 1) I was NOT connected to the computer when I made the changes, and 2) I used TaskMan to exit RegEditSTG *before* I rebooted. I'm really not sure which, if either, made the difference, but at least my values held. So I'm theoretically unlocked. Now, the results: I can successfully install and use WM5storage, which it seems you can't do if your phone is not app-unlocked...but WM5 versions of PocketTV, TCPMP, and other commercial/semi-commercial still refuse to install, usually with a "not intended for this device" error. So I'm halfway there, it seems... Here is also a link with instruction to unlock the SP5 and SP5m: http://spaces.msn.com/xpworld/Blog/cns!...A!198.entry I have followed those instructions exactly.
