As promissed a couple of pics of my car stereo system.

I recently bought another car stereo for soul porpose of hooking up my MDA Vario to it. It did work and so now I'm gonna show you the result.

Love the fact that I can play music video's now. as long as I convert them and keep a good sound quality the sound is really incredible. Like having a dvd player in your car. One extra thing turned up aswell. now I can hear my TomTom navigation even if I'm blasting my music loud!!

The system consists of:

- MDA Vario (with universal mount & 2,5-3,5 adaptor)

- Roadstar CD-802 mp/fm (the carstereo)

- JVC amplifier (320 watts RMS)

- 2 x marquant 12" subwoofers

- set of 250 watt speakers

All in all.... not the best quality stuff. and certainly not the most expensive. but the complaining stops when people step in to my car!!!!!

anyways how are you conecting the stereo to the mda? from the looks of it your runing rca to the back of the unit. what port did you plug them into? can you still use the phone? when you get a phone call do you hear it threw the cars speakers? can you use bluetooth to answere the call but still hear the music?

By the look of those pictures he's running the audio cable behind the top if the centre console and into an AUX input on the back of the head unit (going by the AUX displayed on the head unit itself). I run a messier version without all the fancy amplification and subs in the boot. My head unit has a standard 3.5mm AUX input on the front panel which is why I refered to mine as messier. When playing music or video via Media player the phone mutes all sound when a call comes in, and will direct the call to a BT headset, if you use TCMP for playback and boost the preamp with it then the music just quietens down a bit. At some stage I'm going to get the parts necessary to rig up an external microphone as well as the 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable I use on my MDA pro so that I can do away with the BT headset and have a proper hands free kit, the only drawback to this is that you can't listen to the radio and have it switch automatically to the phone when a call comes in. BTW microsoft voice command is great for this setup, press a button on the phone, tell it who to call or what to play and it seems to get it right most times, surprising thing is that voice command is quite happy to use the internal mic on the phone even when a 3.5mm stereo plug is inserted, just a pity that the phone app doesn't work this way too.

Shuflie.... your attention to detail amazes me!! ;)

it is indeed through a aux-in jack on the back-side.

I don't use bluetooth because I don't have a headset. instead when I get a call I just hear it over the speakers and use the internal microphone (even though it didn't work today). Only thing I use bluetooth with is my GPS receiver.

WMP doesn't appear in my vocabulairy (oh... appearently it does). I use TCMP without the pre-amp. sounds great!! i only change audio settings on the car-stereo.

LMAO at Fluffcat1!!! when I hit 88 Mph my car starts rattle & shake!!!
