Guest nvkid909 Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 have to say im not that impressed with the orange spv's (made by htc) but i love windows smartphones, wish i had a moto mpx! neonode make one, but no bluetooth. ive had spv e100, e200 (joystick failure), c500 (dust under screen), c550 (dust under keys) i would say the c550 is my best so far, all the terminal failings of previous ones are gone. they just need to work on sealing out dust! personal dislikes: i can't stand the outlook style inbox; when you press 'back' you leave the whole messages app! also, the main thing that enrages me so much is the inability to set t9 as default into name & password fields. i hate having to select it all the while, defeats the object of t9! on 2003se, the menus are a mess! i think alot of people create their own folders in the start menu getting the icons into one or two pages. still, more fun than any other phone. i would defo check out [windows] smartphones from other manufacturers first (not many) ps: if you go for c550 contract you also get audio cables, 1150mA battery & 512mb card, nice touch i thought

Guest Tech Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 i would recommend Imate SP5m or the MDA Vario but SP5m is a defo as its much better than C600 and has wifi :)

Guest nomis Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 ok so ive jsut read THIS review of the MDA Vario and decided as well as recomending this to my friend im also goingn to get on for my self and was wondering where people recomend i go for a good deal on this in the uk. if i could get the CoPilot software and a GPS unit this would be a great bonus and i wouldnt mind paying a little over the
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 no! don't buy a C550 or a C600, they are really not different then the C500 - You can not really say the C550 and C600 are similar to the C500, both have better screens and faster processors. They are different stages in the Smartphone's evolution. You may as well say don't get an SP5 as it's similar to the SPV. WiFi and GPS are not that important as such, I have never seriously used the WiFi on my Vario and I use TomTom for my GPS needs.

I guess thats the only important facet to consider (I think). Also, do the newer phones load windows faster then the C500?
Guest Zone-MR Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 I'd say a C600 / SP5 now. However, with the STRTrk just around the corner - it may be worth waiting if you're prepared to stretch your budget a little.
