Guest fluffcat1 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Anyone seen the BBC using the Vario in the advert for BBC no your mobile? Theres been some moaning about no advertisments for Windows Mobiles and this is kind of advertising... except not from the people selling them ! From the one I saw it's a generic wizard - no operator branding - and the screen is (badly) simulated so you'd have to be a nerd to recognise what it actually is. Maybe I'll start a troll on a symbian website for a petition to the BBC.... Richard
Guest impy78 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Yes I noticed that, and tried it - it doesn't work on a ppc AT ALL, as it needs soft keys, and doesn't recognise the touch screen controls, so you can download the midleta nd install it, but you can't actually use it on a vario! (Which begs the question "Why have they put it in their ad?")
Guest fraser Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 For reading the BBC news website, try this link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/nolpda/ukfs_news/hi/ I've no idea how I found it, but it's way better than the regular lofi version they do.
