Guest mrmartin Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Has anyone figured out how to connect with static IP numbers to a router? When I run my router as a DHCP server I get a connection. But I'm having other issues with DHCP and a mac which lead to me having to disable DHCP. Which in turn means that I can't get a connection to my 8310. Anyone know how to use non DHCP mode? Thanks, Martin
Guest hyedipin Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 I have asked the same questions before, Nope. You don't have to disable DHCP if you must assign your mac an IP address. Assign DCHP for 5 leases, and give your mac the 6th number.

Thats why I run without DHCP
Guest hyedipin Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 That's what I am saying. You can give mac the 6th IP, don't need to run DHCP on mac. On your router set 5 IPs, so you can have 5 dhcp clients, and assign your MAC the 6th Ip, for example 192.168.1.106 and give DNS, gateway, etc.. It should work fine.. I hope i was clear.
