Guest conan_troutman Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 HKCU\control panel\sounds\sytemstart change sonoud from *none* to \application data\sounds\sound of your choice or aim at your my sound folder in my documents sound that you want. for shut down sound HKCU\control Panel\sounds\shutdown. then depending on what sound you chose you will have to edit the category in both regedits to either Alarm,Notification, reminder, ring,or System if its an mp3 you chose you will have to pick Ring cannot advise which category as it is sound dependable what i would do is select the one you wnat in sound set up and try work out from there which category it falls into then make the edit percevier and you will get it to work i did.

Guest conan_troutman Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Nope i have now tried every, didn't work :) apparently there is a prgram you can install some where here on modaco that plays the sounds but it is just a program not the actual shut down and start up. to be honest every smart phone I have own I have always edited them so as to have no sound so i actualy love the fact it doesn't have one nothing worse than forgetting to put your phone on silent at night then being woken by the autoreboot as it deafens your left ear
