I've just been told by Orange that they will no longer be stocking the M5000 due to too many problems with it!? And it's no longer available for an upgrade.

I want to stay with Orange but don't want the offered M600.....

Any suggestions - any new releases on the horizon?

I've thought about starting a new contract through a dealer (where I can get the M5000 for free with the amount I pay per month) and porting my number (which I need) but apparently you can't port your number on the same bloody network!!! :)

HELP!

You can port your number to another network then back to the original one again, virgin payg is quite popular for doing this. Check if Orange have a time limit on when you can port a number into a new contract though, if its inside 30 days that might leave things a bit tight. The old way of doing it was to convert your current contract to OVP matching virgin and set a call divert (which was free from Orange to Orange) to your new number but I don't know if this is still available or not

I would verify that what you have been told is true.

I have seen similiar things posted at least twice before, and it turned out both times that it was just that Orange is out of stock...
