Emulation and overclocking

I am new to the world of pocket pcs/pdas etc. so sorry if I sound noobish. I just got the T-Mobile MDA about a week ago, I havent had much time to mess around with it yet but I was trying to get some emulators working on it.

Ive only tried NES so far, the NES emulator pocketnester seems to run pretty smoothly but it does not have the ability to change the screen orientation without opening the keyboard. I want to be able to use the D-Pad for up, down, left, right and the email and IE buttons for A and B. The only one I know of that can do this is morphgear but the problem with morphgear is it does not run smoothly.

I heard some people on another site talk about a program called OMAPCLOCK to overlock to 240mhz or so and then it will run smoothly, and I guess it is possible to set it that only programs you specify will run overclocked that way its not always running overclocked and draining your battery faster than normal.

I couldnt find much info on where to get this program and how to set certain programs like that morphgear emulator to run overclocked tho, so im wondering if anyone here knows.

Hey there, it is very simple to use OmapClock :) You simply run it, and then set the clock speed, and apply it. That is all there is to it! Now, every program you run before going into standby mode (turning the screen off) will run faster, due to the actual processor running faster, so you don't have to worry about any settings in any other programs :) Also, I OC mine to 252 without any troubles...

Edit: Oops, just realised -- you wanted to set it to OC only when MorphGear is running ... There is a command line tag that you use... It is on the forums here somewhere ;)

Download attached omapclock 0.2 (version 0.3 due soon thanks intruders) and template

In the template omapclock speed is set to 240 but you can change that.

Ok I will try to make this easy

1. place omapclock.exe in device \program files\

2. use template provided which is a lnk file

3. change the lnk name to what ever suits I.e. morphgear omap

4. With total commander or gsfinder etc change properties\shortcut just replace * by name of program

N.B. (The lnk file is placed in windows\start menu\programs where there are lnk (link) files to all your other programs.

Rename the file using a file explorer to Say 'Morphgear omap.lnk' and place it in above folder

With the file explorer (you need total commander or gsfinder or resco etc...) you can change properties of lnk file file\properties\shortcut and edit the location.)

and that's it should work. all of syntax is correct cuz this is what I use

warning using omapclock probably voids your warranty and used long term could damage your processor/device

OmapClock.exe
