Guest vk2003 Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 (edited) I have had an SPV c500 for the last 18 months, and having had a windows mobile there is no going back. Having just moved house, the Orange signal is really poor round here, so since I am out of contract I want to change networks to Vodafone or O2, and figure I may as well get a new phone aswell! I have been doing a bit of reading around as to opinions on phones, and am now quite confused, as I am aware that various phones are released under a number of names. The choices as far as I can see are either a C600, or an SP5 or and SP5m..... Can anyone tell me whether the C600 is released under any other names or is it an exclusive Orange thing? Is there any difference between the SP5 & SP5m & Qtek 8310 apart from the latter having Wifi? Has the C600 got a faster processor than the other 2? Do they do proper HTML browsing, or will something like Opera be usable for this? What is the Qtek 1240, and where does it fit into all this??? Sorry for all the questions, but I have been chasing my tail for the last couple of hours! :) Edited May 27, 2006 by vk2003
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 1, The C600 is exclusive to Orange, Cingular in the USA has a similar called the 2125. 2, Nope the only difference is the slight changes each network operator makes to the phone's ROM. The SPm has slightly different key layouts as it's designed for music/multimedia use. 3, Nope the C600 is basically the same but without Wi-Fi 4, Do you mean the v1240? This is the same as the SP5 etc just another different branding by vodafone.

So if I wanted to buy a new and contract free phone SP5 or 8310), is Expansys the inly place or can anyone point me in a better direction. Also I noticed that Expansys do Worldwide versions and EN versions of phones - is there any material difference for a UK user? Cheers
