Guest squilla Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 Hi, Just wondered if there was a quick answer to this.... When I put my SD card into my card reader or laptop (I have tried it on both), I get the message "The Disc in drive E: is not formatted, would you like to format it now?" So I press yes and it says... "The Disc in Drive E: Cannot be formatted". Any ideas? This is so frustrating, I know I can install things through activesync but I am trying to put TomTom back on which I need to do via the card reader. Please help.
Guest squilla Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 Well after installing SK Tools demo and reformatting that way I can now open the storage card folder on my laptop via the card reader, only problem is now that when I try to copy the files across it tell me that the SD card it "Write Protected", its say "remoce the Write Protection or use another disk". Does anyone have any ideas how I can remove the Write Protection? I dont have the the card on "Lock" :) Thanks in advance.
Guest mandt Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 Do you have Resco file explorer? I had trouble with a card recently and only after I formatted it with Resco would it work properly (and has done ever since)

Guest Confucious Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Is your card above 1Gb? Most PC card readers won't recognised SD that are above 1Gb and see them as "unformated". I had this problem with my 4Gb card until I bought a new USB card reader from MobyMemory for

Guest peekie Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 i used storage tools for my sd card a while back , as this application can format the sd from within the phone providing its installed on the ppc not the sd :)
Guest Confucious Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 wm5storage can access the card in the phone OK and is far better than AS for transfering large files but I believe anything accessing it from the PC can only use USB1 so is slow. 7quid for a card from moby means I can use USB2 and it's MUCH faster.
