Guest Phynesse Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 hey I m trying to rebuild a homescreen I had running smoothly on my SDA (2003SE) for my new v1240 (WM5), but problems just wont stop, and i havent even added Fizz yet :) 1. Ghost Bar After installing SmartMonitor all of a sudden there was an area where the bg picture will not display (either at the top or bottom, depending on valign) I moved the iconbar over it, but i d rather get rid of it - any ideas? fixed height seems to be 27. 2. Operator Tag SmartMonitor wont display the tag at all. It should be underneith the signal bar opposite the mAh.. (tried 0.9.5.1 nor 0.9.6.0). apparently the whole tag is not working, because I added characters around it, and even they wont show. i ve checked for typos 100x... 3. 2good2Btrue I ve noticed that I have almost always 100% signal strength / 4 bars with the new phone. on my old phone it seemed to display very accurately. weird. 4.MMS?? I ve seen that others had the same problem: unreadMMS dont display. Tips to any of those issues would be greatly appreciated! CHEERIO! :)
Guest w411y Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Okay I havnt got a WM5 device so Im not much of a help. 1..... Are you trying to say you dont want that black bit at the bottom? If so, have you made sure the image is 240x293. Also it may be that the total heights of all the plugins together is larger than 293. 2.... I remember using a DrBlow screen with SmartMonitor included. The operator tag was in the screenshot but didnt't display on my phone. Sorry I didn't find a solution. 4.... Have a look at the homescreen that comes with the phone and use the message plugin from there.

If so, have you made sure the image is 240x293. Also it may be that the total heights of all the plugins together is larger than 293.thats whats so weird - i have to crop the image by 54 to begin with (27 for the start bar, 27 for the ghost bar). and if it is valign=bottom tha bar jumps to the top. oh, and the bar will be there even if total plugin height is nowhere near 250. i m pretty sure this is SmartMOnitor, because i noticed how the background picture jumped up when i got back to homescreen (windows default) after installing SM... 2.... I remember using a DrBlow screen with SmartMonitor included. The operator tag was in the screenshot but didnt't display on my phone. Sorry I didn't find a solution.strange, though, that the tag wont work at all. i added some characters into it to make it show up, but nothing. with some of the other ones (battery-hours-left) at least it displays "???". 4.... Have a look at the homescreen that comes with the phone and use the message plugin from there.the one that came with my phone has individual plugins for every message type, so u end up with 4 rows.. i think having them in one row makes much more sense, so screw those mms thanks anyway, w411y. your screens rock and helped me build mine! :)
Guest w411y Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Thats ok mate :) Im still confused about this background image problem. What is the resolution of the image. It should be 240x293
Guest Phynesse Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Thats ok mate :) Im still confused about this background image problem. What is the resolution of the image. It should be 240x293 it's 240 x [320-54] = 240 x 266 check this out. i took a 240x320 image with pixel ruler on the side and put it into a bare minimum homescreen. Anyone got any ideas how to get rid of this red bar? :) Here is the XML: <?xml version="1.0"?> <home> <author>Basss</author> <contacturl></contacturl> <title lang="0x0409">Bare</title> <version>1.0</version> <default target-width="240" target-height="320" font-face="Segoe Condensed" font-size="19" font-weight="bold" padding-left="5" padding-right="5" bgcolor="transparent" fgcolor="COLOR_HOMETEXT" padding-top="3" b-border-color="COLOR_HOMERULE" b-border-width="0"> <format state="selected" fgcolor="COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHTTEXT"/> </default> <background bgimage="bare.jpg" bgimage-rotated="bare.jpg" valign="top" bgcolor="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT" /> <scheme> ..blabla </scheme> <!-- Clock and date --> <plugin clsid="{E09043DF-510E-4841-B652-388316977A7A}" name="carrier" height="48"> <background b-border-width="0" /> <clock> <time x="6" y="10" halign="left" valign="top" font-face="nina" font-size="40" color="FFFFFF" font-weight="bold" mode="24"/> <date x="85" y="10" halign="left" valign="top" font-size="14" font-weight="bold" mode="short" /> </clock> </plugin> </home>
Guest w411y Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 (edited) Hmm... try the image as 240x293 EDIT: Why have you got bg-image rotated.. the screen on a smartphone doesn't rotate.. also try removing that. Edited May 29, 2006 by w411y
