Hi all,

Has anyone experienced problems using the joystick on the SPV C600 / other variants. I'm struggling to use mine now after 6 months of owning the phone - up/down doesn't work very well at all.

Any advice welcome...

Thanks,

Tom

Had mine replaced recently after 5months useage. Up and left (if i remember right) were getting temperamental.

There's another thread on here about the joysticks on other models, but has a few replies from people with C600's too.

You mean a warranty replacement? cos PAYG customers don't get 'upgrades' lol

Well yeh, i call it an upgrade cos orange arent supposed to give out different phones with the free warrenty.

but i complained and convinced them to give me and upgrade.

Hi,

Will they replace the joystick if you haven't got insurance? Mine's under the 12month but I have no insurance or customer care.

Thanks

nope, you have to have insurance for them to replace anything.

Since when?

If it's faulty through no fault of your own (i.e dropping it, water damage etc), on a contract handset it usually depends on the length of time you've had the phone.

If you've had it less than 6 months, orange will tend to send you a replacement by courier, usually next working day, who also pick up the faulty one at the same time.

Outside of 6 months, but within your years warranty, they usually direct you to HTC to get it fixed under warranty yourself.

Hi,

I don't have any Orange Care packages, just a standard contract. I have had the contract for less than 6 months and it is through no fault of my own.

Do I get to keep my phone or do I have to send that back to them?

Regards,

James

If it's no fault of your own, and it's less than six months old i'd definately give Orange a ring (150) and they should be able to sort a replacement out. Just explain the fault and they'll no doubt tell you to hard reset it as part of their diagnostics, but just explain you've done that already and you should be sorted.

The only gotcha i've heard of, is sometimes they tell you to go to the place you bought it if you didn't get it straight from Orange.

Personally I can't fault Orange on their returns/replacements system so far.
