check for email

when i setup an email account and go to options theres the option where u can have it polling for new email every 15 mins.....Is it possible to set this up so that it'll only check for new mail if theres a connection available like my wifi connection without it auto connecting on its own via gprs occuring charges.

If so how do i go about setting this up?
