Guest chelttown Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 (edited) Is it possible to use my SP5 as a way to connect my laptop to my wireless network? As my wireless card has broken and I was wondering if this was possible over bluetooth or usb. Cheers, Chris Edited May 31, 2006 by chelttown

Cheers, Chris Use question marks when asking a question. Especially in your thread titles. Otherwise, people will think you're TELLING them how to use their phone as a WiFi access point, rather than ASKING them if it is possible. Get it?

Cheers, Chris you may want to try PDAnet (google it and click on the first link). there is a palm version which i used to get on the internet with my laptop and treo650 without problem. they now have a windows mobile version which should work with your laptop connected via usb cable to your smartphone. there is also a beta option to use bluetooth to connect, but i haven't gotten that to work yet.

Thanks, but unfortunately that doesn't work for me as when I connect my phone to the laptop it automatically turns off wifi :)
Guest kam_ Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Thanks, but unfortunately that doesn't work for me as when I connect my phone to the laptop it automatically turns off wifi :) ActiveSync - Enabled Wi-Fi while charging phone 1. Connect the phone to the PC. ActiveSync will immediately synchronize and Wi-Fi will be disabled on the phone. 2. Using ActiveSync on the PC, click File -> Connection Settings to open the Connection Settings screen. 3. Clear the check box for Allow USB Connections and click OK. 4. Wi-Fi will automatically be re-enabled on the phone. You will need to go through this procedure each time you connect the phone to the PC.
