Guest phildrudge Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 I've just sorted out the speed camera warnings as POI on my ppc in tomtom 5, and according to pocketgps website, you can change all the standard warnings to ones that say which camera you are coming up to. I've tried their method, but absolutely sweet fanny adams happens. Has anyone managed this? The stock BONG and PING and CLANG noises are really annoying after a while!!! Cheers everyone!!!
Guest mandt Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Had a look for the instructions so I could try this but couldn't find it, could you post a link?
Guest phildrudge Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 sure here's the link http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php
Guest mandt Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Well I managed to get the sounds to change but it wasn't what I expected! Ran a demo route past a couple of known speed cameras and all it says is "brought to you by pocketgpsworld.com" (in a horribly annoying american accent) Think I'll stick with the bleeps!
Guest griffog Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 It's not rocket science guys! Once you have installed the correct data.chk file for your version of TomTom, you configure the POI Warnings as desired, the link to our site shows the new sounds that have replaced the Beeps, Moo's etc, so for a Redlight Camera you would select 'Cuckoo' in the POI Warning selection which will give you 'Warning Redlight' when the POI is triggered. The Copyright message is there to stem the flood of leeches selling our sound files on fleabay! Still don't like the accent though, would be great if there were some British ones...
Guest phildrudge Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I know it's not rocket science, but what i meant by my origional post was that i have followed all of the instructions, which are excellent and very comprehensive, but it makes absolutely no difference to the sounds!!! still the same dings and moos!!!!
